Gill Cubed

Gill Cubed is an original font that merges type and art. In Cubist works of art, the subjects are analyzed, broken up, and reassembled in an abstract form. My goal was to use the same process in creating Gill Cubed. 

Letters and numbers were broken into shapes and then reassembled and overlapped to create new shapes. I stayed true to the characteristics of the Gill Sans font, such as structure, balance, and consistency, while pushing the boundaries of letter formations.
