When I was asked to create a narrative about my life experience, I immediately thought about food and how it has shaped me as a person. Food has taken me from a dependent infant whose life depended on baby formula to a middle-aged wife and mother who is tasked with feeding her family daily.
Food is more than nourishment. It’s a gift to those who are struggling, a celebration of life, a sign of independence and adulthood, a peace offering, and even an idol. The recipes I have chosen are not the most popular, but they are the most meaningful.
